PD for Youth™

PD for Youth™ is designed to be used with youth aged 13 to 25. The content is contextually different from the adult resources, and more appropriate to youth life experience.

 

PD for Youth™ is written at a Grade 5-6 reading level.

PD for Youth Foundations Facilitator Guide

The PD for Youth Foundations Facilitator Guide walks facilitators through the complete workshop for youth aged 13 and up, and was designed especially for use in youth employment and / or career development settings. Unlike the classic materials, PD for Youth is tailored to suit the needs and experiences for this age group, encouraging them to explore their values, how they see themselves while learning, with their friends and family and in the world of work. Facilitators can adapt the content of this workshop guide to suit the direction and time frame that they need to work effectively with their youth group.


In addition to leading your participants through an introductory Personality Dimensions® workshop, this guide also walks you through a career building application workshop.

 

Activities include:

  • Identifying key strengths brought to the workplace by each colour

  • Preparing for an informational interview

  • Exploring job search methods


Handouts and PowerPoint® presentation for both the introductory session as well as the career building workshop are also included on the USB drive.

PD for Youth™ Online

 

Paired with specific PD for Youth™ Dimension Cards looking at Life Values, With Friends and Family, Learning, as well as an optional At Work Card along with the standard Picture Cards, the 8 page The PD for Youth™ Profile Report better speaks to teenagers as well as young adults, but also avoids school-based terminology as this may be a barrier for some youth. 

 

The PD for Youth™ Profile Report  explores the Characteristics, Likes, Needs, Skills, Strengths and Potential Weaknesses of each colour. It also features five sections that look at Getting Along with the four personalities, Problems Caused By, Rewarding each of the personalities, as well as descriptions of preferred Work and Learning Environments.
